Yesterday we had the children and carers from EVAM (Etablissement Vaudois d'Accueil des Migrants) visit our Primary Library for an afternoon of fun activities. Helped along by our student volunteers, the children spent time drawing, using educational apps on the iPads and reading some of the stories from our collection of French books. Thanks to Ms Smith and Ms Foster for their passion and organization of this activity.

AuthorI am the Primary Teacher Librarian at the International School of Lausanne in Switzerland. I followed my love of books and became a Teacher Librarian over 12 years ago. I am passionate about reading, literacy and technology and see all three as essential skills for students to navigate both the present and the future. My favourite kinds of books are picture books - I just can't read enough of them! I am also a trained music teacher who plays flute and piano and believes music is the fourth essential skill in helping prepare today's young people for the future. Archives
