Art week has been happening all over the Primary school this week and the displays are amazing. The Creative Arts play an important part in a child's intellectual and social growth and the Powerpoint below about sketching outlines the reasons why it is good to pick up a pen, pencil or crayon and go for it! Why not try this with your child this week. Thanks to Mrs Dunkerley and Mrs Suarez for sharing this and to Beth Curtin for her beautiful slides. You can check out Beth's website here.

AuthorI am the Primary Teacher Librarian at the International School of Lausanne in Switzerland. I followed my love of books and became a Teacher Librarian over 12 years ago. I am passionate about reading, literacy and technology and see all three as essential skills for students to navigate both the present and the future. My favourite kinds of books are picture books - I just can't read enough of them! I am also a trained music teacher who plays flute and piano and believes music is the fourth essential skill in helping prepare today's young people for the future. Archives
